Automatic, motorized extension and retraction based on exposure to the sun
The Sol-Lux Eos awning automatically opens and closes in response to the sun. When the Eos detects sufficient sunlight, it automatically extends. When the sun moves away from the awning or it becomes cloudy, the Eos retracts and encloses itself inside its protective case.
The Eos also has a built-in motion/position sensor to prevent damage during periods of inclement weather. If wind causes sufficient sustained motion, the awning will retract. If enough debris or even possibly snow were to collect on the canopy causing it to sag, it will also retract to limit the stress on the awning arms.
